Xbox partners with Bang & Oulfsen for high end gaming headset

Expect to pay a pretty penny

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal Headphones

Designed specifically for Xbox Series X/S, the Beoplay Portal gaming headset is geared specifically towards high-end audio lovers, and it has a price tag to match. Tuned by renowned Danish firm Bang & Oulfsen, the cans are stacked with features including full Dolby Atmos support, adaptive active noise cancellation, low-latency surround sound, on-ear touch controls, transparency mode, inbuilt beam-forming microphone and up to 12 hours playtime with Xbox Wireless. The headset will pair instantly with your Xbox Series X/S consoles over lossless 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, and can also be connected to smartphones via Bluetooth 5.1 and the Bang & Olufsen App will allow you to tailor the experience to your liking.

On the exterior, the headset features lambskin ear cushions with built-in jaw support, and calfskin leather on the exterior headband with bamboo fibre textile on the inside band. The headset weighs in at a lightweight 282 grams.

Unfortunately no Australian pricing is available yet, however US pricing is a whopping $499.00 - the same as the console itself. Microsoft has advertised the headset on their Australian store however, so we could expect further news in the coming weeks.
