Combined company hopes to enhance cloud infrastructure
Unity, the leaders of real time 3D content, have made their biggest acquisition to date by purchasing Parsec for $320 million in cash. The agreement is subjected to close during Unity’s third quarter.
For those who do not know, Parsec is a proprietary desktop capturing application used on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, Raspberry Pi and the internet.
This move highlights both companies’ goal into expanding cloud vision, essentially allowing creators to work from any location and device via a powerful cloud infrastructure with real time 3D. Together, Unity believes they can build further momentum with customers through targeted cross-selling and bundled solutions.
