Breaking historical traditions
Ubisoft’s upcoming game project will follow the trend established by Fortnite and Grand Theft Auto V, by using an evolving online platform for its game design.
Codenamed Assassin’s Creed Infinity, the French company wants to dip its hands into the service game money well which has seen the aforementioned titles generate billions in revenue.
Infinity will long standing traditions for the franchise, as it will not be an annualised single player release nor will it be developed across numerous international Ubisoft offices led by either the Montreal or Quebec City teams.
Now the Montreal and Quebec teams have unified into one for the project with the latter getting full control over the franchise.
The game tentatively scheduled for 2024, though plans may change in the lead up.
In addition, the Bloomberg article gives insight into Ubisoft’s staff reorganisation following accusations of abusive behaviour and sexual misconduct from senior managers, as well as recent departures of staff members.
