Ubisoft insists Far Cry 6 will be supported on 'old gen'

In an effort to veer away from any possible outcome similar to what Cyberpunk 2077 faced, Ubisoft will show Far Cry 6 running on old gen systems multiple times in the lead up to launch.

In an interview with Video Games Chronicle, lead gameplay designer David Grivel said: "I test it on kits at the company and I can definitely see that as a great thing on the new generation, but that doesn’t mean that the previous generation is abandoned in any way. We’re really, really cautious about that, so we’ll show more detail and more info very soon. But yeah, we’ll care about all the platforms, both old gen, new gen and even PC, Stadia, Luna and all of that".

In other parts of the interview Grivel states "the game is running fine" on both previous generations and new, and that the team is steadfast on achieving "maximum quality on all platforms".

Far Cry 6 is expected to launch on October 7th for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
