All versions broken down
The first 30-minute demo for Resident Evil Village was available for PlayStation users yesterday, and Spanish Youtube Channel ElAnalistaDeBits used their time to capture the differences between the base PS4, PS4 Pro and PS5.
The footage presents video and screenshots across all 3 of Sony's platforms, detailing the variation between FPS, shadows, textures, pop-in, lighting, ambient occlusion, resolution as well as loading times.
It goes without saying that PS5 offers the best place to play, however Sony's latest system does default to Ray Tracing on, which will limit the FPS to 45. Many users however also experienced frame rates much lower, around 30 while Ray Tracing was enabled. With Ray Tracing off, the PS5 will output the title in 4K HDR at 60fps.
PS4 Pro users will have the option of 4K HDR at 30FPS, or 1080p at 60FPS.
Base PS4 will run at 900p at 45fps.
