Sony PS VR 2 set for late 2022 release

A new Bloomberg report indicates the PlayStation VR’s successor is set for a late 2022 launch. Unnamed insiders claim Sony will be using Samsung’s OLED panels, considering the technology is newer and is becoming more commonplace on higher priced TVs.

Most manufactures opt for the cheaper LCD panels, however Sony wants to showcase the PlayStation 5’s technological capabilities by utilising the more powerful and expensive alternative.

Sony has previously confirmed that it will release a "next generation" VR headset for the PS5, and later unveiled ‘orb’ shaped controllers.
