Sony set to announce new PS Plus feature?
The Polish PlayStation Store website may have leaked Sony's plans to bring a 'video pass' feature to the PS Plus subscription service.
The image, which has seen been removed reads: “A new benefit available for a limited time on PlayStation Plus. PS Plus Video Pass is a trial service active 22.04.21 – 22.04.22. The subscription benefit is available to PS Plus users in Poland.”
Currently, its unclear just exactly what this 'video pass' new feature may offer, however it's interesting to note that Sony recently announced that the PlayStation Store would cease offering movie and TV content for purchase or rental. Importantly, the three movies features in the leaked image are all produced by Sony's movie arm.
One suggestion is that in efforts to combat the growing benefits of Microsoft's Game Pass, the Japanese giant is looking to add more value to the company's flagship PS Plus Subscription model, which recently has seen the addition of the PlayStation Plus Collection.
Its also worth pointing out that Sony has recently engaged in developing TV and movie spin-offs to many of its biggest game franchises.
How do you feel about this potential addition to the PS Plus service?
