Netflix to enter the video game market?

Executives looking to hire an expert in their latest expansion

Netflix looking to join the video game industry

Reports (via Reuters and The Information) are claiming Netflix plans to be joining the video game industry by creating a subscription games service.

Netflix is no stranger to gaming considering in recent years it's internal properties, such as Stranger Things and The Dark Crystal has been licensed to developers to craft tie-in games.

The streaming giant has been producing “interactive movies” which combines interactive game mechanics with a typical viewing experience at a growing rate. Examples include Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend.

Netflix executives view Apple Arcade as potential competition, and are seeking to hire someone to oversee its gaming expansion operations.

Still, reports state it is very early as to whether the streaming giant will develop games for the service.

Do you guys think Netflix has the tools for success? Or end up like Google Stadia?
