Future content roadmap revealed plus next generation console releases
It’s a big news day for Ghostrunner, as the action-slasher cyberpunk IP has been acquired by 505 Games. Selling for €5 million (roughly $7.7 million AUD), the Italian developer now has full ownership of the brand. Ghostrunner sold half a million copies by the end of 2020, spurring 505 Games to acquire the rights from Polish developer All in Games.
505 Games co-founders, Rami and Raffi Galante commented:
“Ghostrunner is one of the most impressive indie games we’ve seen, boasting AAA tech and a unique futuristic cyberpunk-inspired world that’s both intriguing and terrifying”
Now the company has outlined a development roadmap for future content, essentially a mix of free and premium cosmetic content trickling through the year. Out soon, the two newest additional modes are the Kill Run Mode and Photo Mode. The former is a time trail challenge mode and the latter is self-explanatory.
The game was jointly developed by One More Level, 3D Realms, and Slipgate Ironworks, and co-published by 505 Games and All in Games for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will release later in 2021.
