Exciting year ahead for fans
Square Enix has released a ton of Final Fantasy XIV information over the weekend, so we have decided to compile the major news all in one.
Final Fantasy XIV will officially launch for the PlayStation 5 on May 25, leaving the Open Beta phase. The next gen version of the MMORPG will feature 4K resolution support, DualSense haptic feedback support, fast load times, new trophies, 3D audio support and high resolution UI. Owners of the PS4 versions can upgrade to the PS5 versions for free.
Coinciding with the PS5 launch, Patch 5.55 will be final major update released before the upcoming Endwalker expansion. Some notable additions to Patch 5.55 comprise of:
- Part 2 of the Death Unto Dawn main scenario
- Save the Queen updates
- YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse epilogue quests
- Reward for collecting all Triple Triad cards
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker
Releasing on November 23, 2021, Endwalker will bring closure to the story that began in A Realm Reborn. The game is available for pre-order, and those who purchase it will gain early access, which is currently scheduled for November 19.
The expansion will bring two new classes – Sage and Reaper, new areas to explore, new tribes and a male Viera will be added as a playable race.
Final Fantasy XIV is immediately available on PC and PS4.
