E3 2021 will be entirely virtual and free

ESA implements massive changes coming to industry event

E3 2021 is entirely virtual, free and lacks physical participation.

For the first the time ever, E3 will be an all-virtual viewing event without any physical participation. Obviously due to the ongoing pandemic, the event will occur between June 12-15. The organisers state that E3 2021 will be free and online only

Companies that will feature consist of Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two, Warner Bros and Koch Media. Though there are some notable omissions, including Sony, EA, Activision Blizzard, Sega, Bandai Namco and Square Enix. The event is two months away with the possibility of more game publishers joining.

"We are evolving this year's E3 into a more inclusive event, but will still look to excite the fans with major reveals and insider opportunities that make this event the indispensable center stage for video games,” said Entertainment Software Association CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis.

The plan is for E3 2022 to be an in-person event again, though it is early and no further information is known.

Free and virtual! You all gonna have some popcorn ready to watch the event?
