Consumers sue Sony Interactive Entertainment

Accuse the corporation of being a monopoly

Consumers sue Sony Interactive Entertainment

Sony Interactive Entertainment is being sued by consumers in a class-action lawsuit in the United States over exclusivity regarding its PlayStation store.

Consumers accuse Sony of running a monopoly, factoring in that the PlayStation Store charges exuberant prices, it is the only place where digital games can be purchased, and has prevented third party retailers to sell download codes.

Walmart Inc, Inc and Best Buy Co. are just some of the retailers who have been prevented by Sony.

The case is Caccuri v. Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, 3:21-cv-03361, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California (San Francisco).
