Uses Dreams game engine
For many fans, Sonic’s transition to 3D has been mixed to say the least. Some titles such as Sonic Adventure and its sequel were praised while others like Sonic Heroes and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) were panned. However two Sonic fans, named RichMenace_94 and 1 collaborator have remade Sonic Adventure using the Dreams game engine for the PS5 console.
The fan work is called Sonic Adventure: Dreams Edition, and the video goes for over six minutes that’s available in 4K and HDR 60 FPS. Sonic fans have sung praises to this fan game, wishing it would become a reality. Unfortunately for them it is unlikely to be the case. Even though the widely revered 2D throwback Sonic Mania was created by an Australian fan Christian Whitehead, it was still officially published by Sega.
For those who don’t know what Dreams engine is, it is a game creation engine developed by Media Molecule and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PS4 that was released on 14 February 2020.
It’s the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog and while this game won’t ever release, there is still the chance of a remaster of Sonic Colours.
