Lead plaintiff has now been appointed
CD Projekt is subject to four lawsuits revolving around the troubled launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will be subject to potential common court proceedings. A lead plaintiff has been selected to represent all four lawsuits.
Two class action lawsuits filed in December 2020 and January 2021 from shareholders, claimed CD Projekt mislead buyers into purchasing Cyberpunk 2077, which was “virtually unplayable on the current generation Xbox or PlayStation systems due to an enormous number of bugs.”
Shareholders further say that due to the enormity of Cyberpunk 2077’s technical issues and its removal from PlayStation Store caused “reputational and pecuniary harm”.
CD Projekt states that the refunds they offered was only a small percentage, and vowed to defend itself against any lawsuit.
