Blizzard plays it safe
It seems the Covid-19 woes are still strong in the United States as Blizzard announces BlizzCon 2021 will be held virtually this year.
The company states the "ongoing complexities and uncertainties of the pandemic" have hindered their ability to plan and organise an event that would reach expectations.
Instead, the developer/publisher will be holding a global event in the early parts of 2022, which will combine "online show along the lines of our recent BlizzConline with smaller in-person gatherings".
Things have been a little rocky over at Blizzard lately, and with the uncertain reception to the recent Overwatch 2 reveal, the cancellation of BlizzCon 2021 may also be a sign of tougher days ahead.
