Alex Kidd recoated in new paint
The beloved 1986 platformer classic of the Sega Master System, Alex Kidd in Miracle World is being remade for modern gaming systems. Titled Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, the game is being co-developed by Merge Games and Jankenteam.
Alex Kidd now has a complete graphical overhaul with a new art style along with added levels, story features, alternate boss fights and new modes. There is also the option of Classic Mode, where players can switch to the retro style graphics of the 1986 version.
Before Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd was the mascot of Sega and was viewed as Mario’s first rival. Many gamers of that time period who owned a Sega Master System have fond memories of Alex Kidd in Miracle World and critics still rate the game highly due to its timeless gameplay.
As the trailer reveals, the remake will release on June 24, 2021 on PS4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
