A GTA Remastered Trilogy may be real

For PlayStation, Xbox, PC, phones and the Nintendo Switch

Grand Theft Auto 3D era trilogy may be on its way

According to sources close to Kotaku, the 3D era of Grand Theft Auto games which comprise of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas are set to be remastered for current and next generation consoles.


Kotaku claims their sources have reliable track records, who state the GTA remasters are in final stages of development and will use the Unreal Engine. The visuals are described as being a mix of old and new graphics alongside an updated UI.

Rockstar Dundee is said to have been given the reigns in leading development for the remasters and have provided assistance in porting Grand Theft Auto V to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.


The remastered trilogy is rumoured to release later this year in late October/early November in a digital only collected package on PS4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, PC, Stadia and mobile phones. Though there is uncertainty if the games will release on all platforms at the same time.
